Any Christian weight-losers out there?

i need advice. i am starting the giovanni diet tomorrow, and i will stick with it. encouragement please?

fresh start today. no more snacking. no more bad foods. back to eating good & walking. i need to stop using my surgery as an excuse to not do anything. all i’ve been doing the past 3 weeks is snacking and sleeping. well, working too. so i’m excited for this month. i haven’t weighed myself in a week or two & like i said, i’m going to try to go this entire month without weighing myself. it’s probably not going to happen, but i’m going to try!

i’m about to get ready to go for a walk right now. not sure about jumping right into 3 miles, but i’m going to take it one lap at a time!! wish me luck!!!

I’ve never done this before, or if I have I’ve never actually held myself accountable at the end of the month…so here goes. Small goals for now :)

  • Lose 2-3 Kg- If I can get to 66kg by July (2kg loss), I’ll be happy. This one is a must.
  • Go to the gym 4+ times a week- I’m really, really hoping I’ll be able to afford a membership, if I can’t, I’ll change this goal.
  • Eat as clean as possible, all day, every day- This one will be so hard. I have such a huge problem with binge eating. But I’ll go a day at a time.
  • See my psychiatrist every week- No backing out or giving up.
  • Only weigh or measure on Fridays- No sneakiness, it only dissapoints me when I do it too often.

Tomorrow was bad, today will be better. I won’t wait until July to start again. Let’s go :)

Can you imagine? I have 100% control over what I eat. That kid has what? maybe 15%? that’s being generous.

I’m blessed that my parents raised me at a normal weight. Child obesity is running rampant. I want to have this healthier lifestyle so that when I have children, I can teach it to them.

How about you?

If you’d like to join the weightloss challenge starting today, send an inbox so I can make you a group member and we can all do this together.

BEFORE PICTURES ARE GOING ON NOW!

i need a good workout and im out of options to do at home.

That calculates the amount of calories I burn?

I’m super excited to try it out!! I have everything hooked up, and although I don’t have a lot of time to log activity for the day, it’s already working pretty well.

If you missed my last post, the fitbit is a 3-dimensional pedometer that tracks steps taken, distance travelled, calories burned, and then sends the information to a website that analyzes it for you. Check out www.fitbit.com if you want to learn more!

Anyhoo, just thought I’d share. It’s tinier than I expected, but I hope it works! I have it clipped to my bra right now 8) Take a look!

I’d like to follow!

Day 2 outcome

  • Soy milk, strawberries, bananas, and almonds for smoothies
  • Special K protein drinks for after running
  • Yogurts
  • Total Raisin Bran
  • Fat free cottage cheese with pineapple
  • Arnold Palmer iced tea/lemonade
  • Weight Watchers ice cream bars
  • Chicken breast
  • Mio water flavor
  • Fiber One bars

I don’t remember what else I got but I’m sure there were a few other things. I tried to get things that said light, fat free, or something of that sort. I’ve got some ham and cheese for sandwiches. I also got a couple Lean Cuisines and a frozen pizza in case I don’t feel like actually making something, but I always have a couple of those things around.

This week I plan on-

  • Running on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday- I’ll probably stay on week one of C25K the whole time and move on next week.
  • Starting to learn some portion control- measuring out portions and then making note of what a cup of this or two tablespoons of that actually looks like so eventually I won’t have to measure things.
  • Yoga a few times if I feel like I need it- 15-minute Gaiam DVD.
  • If I can find batteries for my Wii Balance Board, I’ll be weighing in with that sometime this week and probably doing the fit tests on there.

As much as I hate seeing any kind of weight gain, whether it’s 1/2 a pound or 5 pounds, I always remember that I’ve lost a total of 46 pounds so far. That’s 46 pounds of hard work and determination. So what if I’ve slipped up and gained a few pounds? If I can lose 10 times that much, then I can do anything. I may not be skinny yet, but I know I look a hell of a lot better than I did at 190.

So today I decided that when I reach my weight loss goal in the middle of September, I’m going to reward myself by buying tickets to Coachella, Bonnaroo AND Austin City Limits 2012! (maybe even Lollapalooza if the lineup is absolutely unreal!) That will be the perfect end of school and weight loss reward to myself.

Watching the Bonnaroo coverage is making me want to cry. I should be there right now! Such a great lineup. Well, better start saving my money now. This is going to be one expensive reward!

Well - as I thought - not such a great week.

336.8lbs - down only 1lb from the previous week.

Making sure I push myself harder this week.

1031 calories burned walking 2.53 miles in 50:00 minutes.

Hello, Hello!

So, it’s been a while. My sister got married yesterday and so life at my house has been a blur! Not in a bad way, just been pretty busy getting bossed around and… hah just kidding. Well, not really. ;)

It’s been about a month since the semester has ended and I have made a couple of changes in my life ( or at least in the process). I guess I should start with a story of what happened to me a few weeks ago.

For the past couple of summers, my parents get a gym membership to utilize the pool and to keep my brother busy. The funny thing is, is we never got these memberships to build a healthier lifestyle really… just something to keep my brother off the video games and out into the sun. Well anyway, about two weeks ago, I strapped on my “workout clothes” and made my way to the gym to reactivated my membership. After so, I went to the locker room towards the scale. Now, this is hard for me to confess this, but I figured if I talk to other people (or just type out my feelings) it might help me gain a boost of some motivation. Anywho, well the scale read a whopping 233 lbs. Now… people that know me find that number hard to believe because it’s hidden behind my height, but noticable or not… that is still very unhealthy. Well, I was furious for some reason. I mean, somehow I knew it in the back of my mind all along, but for some reason my mind went into this weird racing frenzy. I don’t even know how I got up the stairs to the workout equipment… it was like my body and soul  were separated and my mind had made the decision that all of this had to end… or eventually… I would be the one to end. Now, that sounds drastic… but it’s the truth. So, it’s been two weeks since the “work in progress” transformation and so far I have lost 9 lbs.

This is probably nothing to many people, but to me… it’s everything. This is just the beginning and… sure… there will be mistakes, but people make mistakes… even the skinny people ;) The only person who can fix this is myself.

There is more to this story, but I just feel myself rambling all over the place. So, to be short and sweet… I have decided to transform this blog into one that records my struggles and successes with fitness, health, and weight loss.

Anyone else who is struggling with this as well, I greatly respect you. Many people don’t realize how hard it is for people with these issues. They don’t understand that it’s not just the pounds weighting you down. So don’t listen to the clueless judgement around you and let’s do this together! And if your not struggling with this but know someone struggling with obesity and weight loss, just know you could be a strong advocate in changing their life. Well anyway, whoever is listening (if anyone is) I thank you for reading this. Hope you stop by again!

here goes nothing :)

cw: 66.1kg / 145lbs

i am only 100g away from going under 66kg. it would be GREAT if i could just hit the 65s next week cos i’ve been fluctuating between 66 - 67kg over the past 3 weeks!

in any case, i’ve realized i shouldn’t beat myself up over not being able to exercise the past 3 days. my body needed a break, so i shouldn’t feel bad :] plus!! when i quit my job (4th july!!) i’ll be able to spend everyday in the gym making full use of my membership. hehe. i’m so excited for that. :)

hope you guys had a good weekend too? :)

Forever thunder thighs? I’ve kind of come to love em’ through the running and lifting. Definitely got a long way to go though on toning them.

I’ll update my stats and everything tomorrow morning. I’m exhausted and I have work early tomorrow.

On the bright side, I’m really proud of myself for burning off my breakfast and lunch. :) now I can just burn my dinner off in my sleep plus a little extra. :)

Night everyone!

It's amazing when clothing fits properly instead of being sausaged into things!

and DAMN. does that hurt your ass. I need to stretch >:/ I’ll probably take a walk tonight, or go to the YMCA or something. Hoo-rah! I can’t wait until I get down to 200 ibs. I’m going to piss myself when I do :)

Misconception: This creamy spread is an indulgence best enjoyed occasionally because it’s high in fat and calories.

Why it’s good for you:At least five major studies confirm that eating peanuts can lower risk for coronary heart disease. So it’s no leap to think that peanut butter confers the same benefits. “Suffice it to say that eating peanut butter or peanuts has been associated with lower total cholesterol, lower ldl or ‘bad’ cholesterol, and lower triglycerides, all of which are associated with lower cardiovascular disease risk,” says Richard Mattes, Ph.D., R.D., a professor of nutrition at Purdue University.

My scale is european, i was exactly 52.0 kilos which is 114.6 pounds and my BMI is now 18.5!!!

Words fail to express my joy

Breakfast:

1 caramel snack a jack cracker (51)

Lunch:

Weight Watchers Lemon and chicken risotto (331)

Dinner:

2 fried eggs on bread with half an avocado and 2 teaspoons of peanut butter (665)

Snacks:

1 spoon of Branston Pickle with 1 small apple and a small amount of cheddar cheese (145)

Total approx: 1192 calories.

My dinner today wasn’t very healthy and I have food regret now! I am going to try and do an aerobics work out later but I have so much work to do I am not sure I will have the time :(

I’ve just ordered those in a size 6 to wear to the festival I’m going to at the end of July. I’m currently a size 10, so thats a month and two weeks to drop 2 dress sizes…

Now whenever I go to eat or think about not bothering with my exercise for the day, I’ll remember that;

a - I want to be skinny

b - I don’t want to waste my money on shorts I can’t fit into

c - I want to look hot at the festival and pull loads of hot guys and have an amazing time.

My goal dress…. I want to wear this dress for my 25th birthday…. I have about 2 months

So, yesterday was my cheat day. I had posted that I was going to use my weigh-in yesterday morning as my weigh-in instead of today…well, I decided to do both but, I’m super bummed.

6/11/11 Weigh In: 268.2

6/12/11 Weigh In: 271.5

…Fml. I’m REALLY hoping it’s either my weight fluctuating or muscle or something. I’ve decided to go with the average, 269. I figure that’s a “fair” way to do it and try to not beat myself up about it. So:

Total Loss: 26 lbs

Total Loss this week: 1lb

:) My goal for next week is 3lbs. I know I can do it. I have to do it. Next week goal is: 266 lbs.

Break the fast right? I’ve been sleeping for the past 6-8 hours, sometimes only 4, oftentimes more like 10.  Either way, when I wake up, I’m ravenous.  I never understood people that don’t eat breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day!

According to research, skipping meals, especially breakfast, can actually make weight control more difficult. Breakfast skippers tend to eat more food than usual at the next meal or nibble on high-calorie snacks to stave off hunger. Several studies suggest that people tend to accumulate more body fat when they eat fewer, larger meals than when they eat the same number of calories in smaller, more frequent meals.

I love breakfast food. Bacon, eggs, toast, waffles, pancakes, cereal, fruit.  I could eat every meal and have it be of the breakfast variety and not even be mad about it. In the words of Jade, I’m sorry I’m not sorry. You know what I like even more than breakfast food? Going out to eat breakfast food. Breakfast and brunch especially with buffets are my downfall.  There’s nothing like going to a place that will make an omelette right in front of me, exactly the way I want it. But since I don’t do that often, and will probably be doing it less, I had to make some changes at home.

Thankfully, I live with my sister (Molly, amazinglyenough) who fancies herself the next Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa). We try to eat a good breakfast balanced with protein, a little fat, carbohydrates and a ton of fruit as often as possible. On the weekends, I eat like a queen. During the week, I usually have a Jimmy Dean Delight breakfast sandwich (Points Plus = 7) and a banana. Generally, I’m eating in my car on the way to work, that’s me time, but I’m still eating it, and I encourage you to too!

For a long time I liked to kid myself into buying the sizes I felt comfortable purchasing. The thought of buying a Large bottom in shorts, bathing suits, skirts, etc scared me. I thought that if I’m so short and not that overweight I must fit into something smaller. I was so wrong.

All of my medium clothing used to “fit” me but I would have to pair it with exactly the right top/cover up so you wouldn’t be able to tell just how tight and improperly it fit me! Now all of those items fit me correctly and it is a world of a difference!

I just tried on some bathing suits for an upcoming trip and while I don’t love my body in a bathing suit (yet) I sure feel better in my suits than I used to. The bottoms no longer cut into my stomach and butt, they just rest on my skin the way they were intended to. The tops don’t fight a battle to keep my boobs up with the limited fabric provided, now my boobs actually fit into the tops I’ve purchased and I am comfortable and look better.

Moral of this run on sentence is none most of my clothing are not too big on me yet, I’m not going down a size, things aren’t falling off of me, but everything fits, everything I own now looks like it was made for me and not like I borrowed it from my niece and that is an amazing feeling :)
