NYFW- Take 2

I'm happy Fashion Week is done only because the extra foot traffic was messing with my lesiure lunch walk. I will miss it since it will not be hosted at Bryant Park again (fighting tears). That being said I would like to recap the designers I liked so we can move on the London Fashion Week and then.....(wait for it) PARIS!!!!!!! So let's get down to the nitty-gritty shall we?

Suno F/W 2010
How would I describe Suno?  I would describe it as the wardrobe of your eccentric but fashionable aunt who went to Africa and came back. The colurs, prints and patterns are awesome and draw a lot of old school people to mind. The designer started in 2008 after many trips of collecting textiles from Kenya. I like the mixing of patterns and colours. I look forward to seeing more. This season collection makes me think of a vintage take mixed with Kenya.

Chris Benz F/W2010: Chris Benz is a genius with colour. He makes the most mundane thing look great with the right colour and fabric. For Fall 2010; Chris Benz uses mustards, burnt oranges, browns, etc. that make me think he drew his inspiartions from Fall itself. My must have item? His high waisted, burnt orange shimmer skirt.

Halston F/W 2010: I don't know how to explain my love affair with Halston. Ever since a little girl, I was surrounded by the Halston perfume, keep sake dresses, etc. As I have seen designers go in and out of the doors of Halston; I began to wonder: can Halston come back? I believe so. Halston is now under Marios Schwab, and I actually think it might work. I can't say he remained true to the brand but he did give it an update. I love, love the cream coloured one shoulder dress.

Rachel Roy F/W 2010:  I love, love, love Rachel Roy. She is an awesome designer. I feel that she hasn't been recognized in the business really. She is an awesome designer and I feel her moment will come. For Fall 2010, she used deep plums browns and blacks with laser cut outs on velvet. The collection makes me think of old school meets new age glamour (if that makes sense). The cuts of the clothes make me think of the 40's but the fabrics, colours, etc. makes me think of a new age vamp (in a good way). My must have piece: The dark brown ombre long sleeve knee-length dress.

Tracy Reese F/W 2010: Another amazing designer that doesn't get enough credit. I love Tracy's dresses and girlie style. For Fall 2010, she does a girlie meet rocker look that makes me think Taylor Momsen would be at home in. Blacks, greys and deep browns meet with lace, tiers, ladies coats and bombers. My must have piece: the greyish blue strapless tier dress.
That's all for today. Tomorrow, I'll finish up on my picks for NYFW F/W2010.

I Gotta Have It!

I haven't done this in a while, but since I love fashion I have to list my "Must Have" list. I'm not going to jump a season ahead; I'm goning to deal with my list for February. So Here Goes:

1. Polo Ralph Lauren Ranger Boots:
I know that so many high schoolers have it and that is enough reason for me not to get them but I love the rugged yet prep look they have to them. Since we will be having a snow storm next week, these would be perfect!

2. Wolf & Badger Ring:
This ring rocks! I can see it on my pointer finger as I type. It screams awesome without even trying. I need to buy some more rings; I have been wearin gthe same three rings for 2 years now. It's time for a change, and this is the ring I would choose.

3. YSL Chyc Bag:
I know, the name sounds cheesy. But I love it. It's not in stores yet but I wish it was; I wouldn't mind walking about with it this winter. I would definitely want it in black; since All- Black everything is my theme this winter.

5. This Entire ZARA look:
I love this look. I would dress like this to work everyday if my commute wasn't so long. I love the pants, shirt, blazer and shoes. It balances each other perfectly.

6. Metal Pyramid Stud Earrings:
I love these! Their rock but you don't have to try too hard. They go with the LBD or the t-shirt and jeans. What more can a girl as for?

7.ZARA Leather Jacket:
I am an extremely picky person when it comes to leather jackets. But this onr looks so awesome! I love it so much! Just look at it, I mean come on!

8.Ear Warmer Headband:
Since I chopped my hair off, the hat looks so horrible on me. So after a google search to find out what exactly these things were called I was hooked. I like the crochet. It's cute and funky; a wonderful combination.

That's all for now; I have work to do. Be blessed

I Found Them!

After centuries of looking and waiting………..lol, not really but it feels like it. I found my birthday shoes! They are the coolest, most awesomest (not a word, I know), sexiest shoes I’ve seen in a long time; and they called out to me! I was googling shoes with studs on them because I’m going for a rocker meets couture look (I’m designing my own dress); I saw the shoes and the rest is history…….They’re black leather studded round toe pumps by Dolce Vita. They’re only $225 so my mother won’t complain she’s getting faint when I mention the price. Fashionable and affordable; what more could a girl want?

I Gotta Have It!- Reebok Uptown Top Down

OMGosh! I have fallen in love......with a pair of sneakers. I know what you were thinking (someday, just not today). I was reading one of my fav blogs: fashionista.com; and they were blogging about the new pair of Reeboks called the "Uptown Top Down". They're soooooooo cute! I want a pair so badly! Mind you, I don't own a pair of sneakers but that's a different story. They are just so adorable. I am going to get a pair for spring with some jeans and tank tops while I am at it, lol. I like them in black. I can't wait!
