J.W. Anderson’s SS 2011 Men collection invites us to a playful dreamland like no other. His innovative garments and avant-garde pieces embellished the runway in the most dazzling way possible.
It is a fact that many other designers have tried to mix different textures and fabrics unsuccessfully, but Anderson has been added to that high standard list of the few who had actually made it. The modern and ultra sleek guy, in whom the collection is hung up on, is a little bit rough around the edges, with strong confidence and a groundbreaking presence, almost as if he was some kind of fashion warrior ready to break the rules.
Prints, knits, and layers prove that this newly familiar designer has no fear when it comes to experimenting. Some of the amazing items seen on the runway would be: a tie-dyed/zipper detailed t-shirt, a pair of floral printed camel pants and a long sleeves t-shirt with a crocheted attachment. Chain belts, curious pins and punk-inspired collars contrast, yet at the same time complement, the floral shirts and exquisite creamy color palette he chose to show. It is clear that Anderson has certainly left us wanting more and we should keep track of his next impressive creations.
