Sonu Nigam With Son Nevaan.

Sonu Nigam has decided to thank the Lord on his firstborn Nevaan's birthday (July 25) with a jagran.

Sonu confirms, "I am planning a jagran on Nevaan's birthday. We want to give a special thanks to the Almighty for giving us Nevaan. I come from the capital city, I and it will be a typical Delhi-type jagran.

I have hired a jagran orchestra from Delhi and one of my closest friends, who is an expert at such functions will come for it. Dad, my sisters, my mom and I will be all singing at the jagran."

The jagran will not be held at the Nigam residence as it's a all-night affair and it might disturb the residents. Sonu says, "We will hold the jagran at a different venue.

It's not a mata ki chowki, which ends at 10 pm." Sonu recalls that the he had a similar 'thanksgiving' twelve years ago on his parents' 25th wedding anniversary 12 years ago, "Jagrans are part of our culture. At the anniversary, I had sung only one song but at my son's birthday (Nevaan turns one year) I will sing as many as possible though he's too young to realise it. After the jagran, we will have a puja."

The proud papa says that Nevaan also seems to have the singing gene, "When Nevaan was eight months old and I was sitting with Nevaan and singing, suddenly he sang 'aaa' in the same note. I was shocked! I have recorded his pitch and now he sings and catches my pitch every time I sing a note. It's incredible." Nevaan's is totally a papa's boy. Sonu laughs, "Nevaan is papa's poonch (tail). He loves being with me.

I try and take him with me whenever and wherever I can. He has also travelled half the world with me USA, Germany, Dubai, Spain, Singapore, Bangkok, Phuket you name it and he's gone there. And he's the best baby on every flight. Nevaan doesn't cry even once on an eight-hour flight."
